Usage

Video Gallery displays a grid of embedded videos with minimal styling — a common pattern without the overhead of building it from scratch each time. Use it for demo reels, tutorial collections, speaker highlights, or any page section that needs several videos in a row.

The block inserts with three sample YouTube embeds. Replace URLs with your own content, add more embeds with the block inserter, or remove slots you do not need.

Video Gallery is a container block — it holds core Embed and Video children, not custom Dirigible cards. Anything WordPress can embed (YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, and other oEmbed providers) works here, as do uploaded video files via the core Video block.

Gallery Settings (parent)

Select the Video Gallery parent to access sidebar controls under Gallery Settings:

  • Columns — maximum embeds per row before wrapping to the next line
    • 2 — two videos per row at desktop widths
    • 3 (default) — three per row
    • 4 — four per row

The grid wraps responsively on smaller viewports, showing fewer items per row until the column maximum is reached on larger screens.

Adding embeds

Click the inserter prompt inside the gallery or use the block toolbar to add another Embed or Video block. Each child is edited independently — paste a URL, pick a provider, or upload a file the same way you would with standalone core embed blocks.

Remove an embed by selecting it and deleting the block.

Block width

Video Gallery supports Wide and Full alignment from the block toolbar and defaults to Wide width.

Compared to Grid

You can approximate this layout with a Grid block filled with styled cards, which offers more background, typography, and content options per cell. Video Gallery is the simpler choice when you only need a clean embed grid without per-card styling.

For a single video beside copy in a two-column band, use Video & Text instead.

Tips

  • Select the Video Gallery parent — not an individual embed — before changing Columns.
  • Mix providers if needed (YouTube and Vimeo in the same gallery), but keep aspect ratios similar for a tidy grid.
  • Use 4 columns for short clips on wide pages; 2 columns when embeds need more visual weight.
  • For one featured video with supporting text, Video & Text or Vignette may fit better than a gallery.

Columns

Set the maximum number of embeds per row (2, 3, or 4). The grid wraps to additional rows as needed and scales down on smaller viewports before reaching the column maximum.
